ADVENTURERS

Entering Grades TK - K

Where Young Minds Discover, Create, and Play

The Adventurers program provides a nurturing and engaging environment designed specifically for our youngest campers. With a focus on hands-on activities, teamwork, and creative exploration, Adventurers are guided by experienced teachers who understand the developmental needs of TK and Kindergarten-age children.

 

Program Highlights:

  • Camper-to-Staff Ratio: 10 to 1 for personalized care and support.

  • 3–4 Daily Workshops: A variety of engaging activities to keep young minds and bodies active.

  • On-Site Enrichment: Big Kicks Soccer and Gymnastics to build physical confidence and teamwork.

  • Friday Pizza Parties: A weekly tradition of fun, food, and friendship.

  • Special Guests & Events: Interactive experiences that add excitement to each session.

 

Adventurers Experience:

  • STEM: Adventurers explore early science, technology, engineering, and math concepts through playful, hands-on activities. They will build simple structures, experiment with basic cause-and-effect projects like marble runs, or engage in sensory-based science to encourage curiosity and problem-solving.

  • Creative Arts: Campers express themselves with a variety of materials, colors, and textures. Activities like painting, crafting, and group art projects help develop fine motor skills, spark imagination, and encourage collaboration with peers.

  • Movement: Physical activities, such as obstacle courses, relays, and balance challenges, improve coordination and build confidence. Movement sessions reinforce teamwork, encourage active play, and keep campers energized.

  • On-Site Enrichment: Adventurers participate in Big Kicks Soccer and Gymnastics, engaging in skill-building activities that promote teamwork, physical fitness, and self-assurance in a fun and supportive environment.

  • Brain Power: Activities like interactive storytime, scavenger hunts, and group games introduce problem-solving, memory-building, and early teamwork skills while keeping young minds engaged and excited to learn.

EXPLORERS

Entering Grades 1 - 3

Where Curiosity Meets Exploration

The Explorers program is thoughtfully designed for early elementary-age campers who are ready for bigger adventures and new challenges. Through interactive workshops, exciting field trips, and opportunities for creative expression, Explorers are encouraged to build skills, explore interests, and create lasting friendships.

 

Program Highlights:

  • Camper-to-Staff Ratio: 12 to 1 to ensure engagement and support.

  • 2–3 Daily Workshops: Focused, hands-on activities that promote skill-building and collaboration.

  • Field Trips and Swimming: Alternating weekly adventures to keep campers excited and active.

  • Friday Pizza Parties: A weekly celebration campers look forward to.

  • Special Guests & Events: Unique experiences that bring themes to life.

 

Explorers Experience:

  • STEM: Explorers tackle engaging projects that encourage critical thinking and collaboration. They will design simple machines, experiment with water dynamics, or build creative models, applying science and engineering concepts in fun and interactive ways.

  • Creative Arts: Campers explore their creativity through art, music, and crafting. Collaborative projects like group murals, eco-friendly crafts, and themed creations allow them to express themselves while developing fine motor skills and teamwork.

  • Movement: Explorers stay active through games, challenges, and sports that promote physical fitness and sportsmanship. Activities like obstacle courses, team-building relays, and outdoor games encourage healthy competition and camaraderie.

  • Off-Site Enrichment: Explorers alternate between:

    • Swimming at Millbrae Meadows Swim Club—enjoying recreational swim and poolside games.

    • Field Trips to parks, museums, or local attractions aligned with the week’s theme.

  • Brain Power: Group activities like scavenger hunts, team puzzles, and problem-solving challenges inspire creativity, encourage teamwork, and strengthen critical thinking in a supportive setting.

 

Explorers experience a dynamic mix of learning, play, and adventure, ensuring they stay engaged, challenged, and excited for what’s next.

TRAILBLAZERS

Entering Grades 4 - 7

Where Independence and Innovation Thrive

The Trailblazers program empowers pre-teens and young teens to take on greater challenges, develop autonomy, and explore their interests in a supportive and exciting camp setting. With advanced workshops, hands-on labs, and enriching off-site adventures, Trailblazers are encouraged to think creatively, collaborate, and grow their confidence.

 

Program Highlights:

  • Camper-to-Staff Ratio: 14 to 1, fostering independence while providing guidance.

  • 1–2 Daily Workshops: Focused, skill-building activities that challenge and inspire.

  • 1–2 Daily Lab Sessions: Tinker Lab, Slime Lab, and Camp-Cade for hands-on exploration, creativity, and fun.

  • Field Trips and Swimming: Alternating weekly to keep campers engaged and energized.

  • Friday Pizza Parties: A weekly celebration to wrap up each session.

  • Special Guests & Events: Unique experiences tailored to inspire and challenge older campers.

 

Trailblazers Experience:

  • STEM: Trailblazers take on hands-on projects that challenge their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. They will design Rube Goldberg machines, explore environmental science, or create prototypes to test their creativity and engineering skills.

  • Creative Arts: Campers dive into advanced art projects that encourage self-expression and teamwork. Activities like large-scale murals, 3D model building, and mixed-media art allow them to experiment with new techniques and showcase their creativity.

  • Movement: Physical activities include strategy-based games, trust-building challenges, and team sports that promote collaboration, confidence, and physical fitness. Trailblazers stay active while building teamwork and leadership skills.

  • Off-Site Enrichment: Alternate weekly between:

    • Swimming at Millbrae Meadows Swim Club—relax, play poolside games, or enjoy the heated pools.

    • Field Trips to exciting destinations like parks, museums, and cultural attractions that align with weekly themes.

  • Labs: Specialized lab time allows Trailblazers to explore their interests in exciting ways:

    • Tinker Lab: Invent and build with tools and materials that inspire innovation.

    • Slime Lab: Experiment with hands-on chemistry to make creative concoctions.

    • Camp-Cade: Compete in air hockey, foosball, and other camper-favorite games for friendly competition and fun.

 

Trailblazers experience a program that balances autonomy with collaboration, challenges their creativity, and inspires them to think big, explore new ideas, and embrace every opportunity for growth.

TEEN LEADERS

Entering Grades 8 - 12

Where Leadership and Growth Begin

The Teen Leader Program offers a unique opportunity for youth to build leadership, communication, and life skills while contributing to the camp community. Designed for teens ready to take on new challenges, this program provides mentorship, hands-on experience, and a pathway to personal and professional growth.

 

Program Highlights:

  • Leadership Training: Learn to model positive behavior, inspire younger campers, and build confidence.

  • Job Skills: Practice job applications, interviewing, clocking in and out, and working as part of a team.

  • Life Skills: Develop responsibility, time management, independence, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Enrichment: Teen Leaders enjoy camp activities like swimming, field trips, and a special appreciation event.

 

Program Details:

  • Teens are paired with experienced staff to help facilitate activities, workshops, and camp events.

  • Responsibilities include assisting during STEM, Creative Arts, and Movement workshops, helping during lunch and snack time, and maintaining a healthy camp environment.

  • Teen Leaders are not responsible for supervising campers but play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and supportive atmosphere.

 

Application Process:

  1. Complete the online Teen Leader Application.

  2. Attend a group interview to learn more about the program and demonstrate your readiness.

  3. If accepted, you and your parent will receive email instructions for final registration.

 

Recognition & Rewards:

  • Receive a Certificate of Participation and a Letter of Recognition (upon request).

  • Gain practical experience to include on resumes and applications.

  • Celebrate your contributions at a Teen Leader Appreciation Event.

 

The Teen Leader Program is an exciting opportunity for teens to grow as leaders, gain valuable life experience, and enjoy a summer filled with fun and learning.
