COMMITMENT TO CHILDREN
Camp Happy Hall is committed to cultivating the next generation of confident, curious, and compassionate adults!
Our goal is to create an environment that teaches the values of care and compassion, which encourage social responsibility for the greater community. Our Camp enriches the lives of its campers through skill-based Science, Creative Arts, Movement, and Brain Power workshops while fostering a lifelong commitment to learning.
Happy Hall Schools have been educating children since 1951 in Millbrae and San Bruno at our preschool, before and after-school, and camp programs. We believe that life-long habits are formed throughout childhood and designed our summer camp program with that in mind.
DIRECTORS & TEACHERS
Camp Happy Hall staff provides campers with a safe and creative environment that encourages positive attitudes towards learning.
The majority of our Camp Staff are the same teachers who work at our before and after school Club programs and have a combined total of over 100 years of teaching experience with Happy Hall Schools.
Camp staff receive year-round training and are CPR and First Aid certified.
Marina started with Happy Hall Schools over 20 years ago, working as a teacher at our preschool. In 1999, Marina joined our Happy Hall Meadows Before & After School program, where she is now the director. Children are the center of Marina’s work, and she works hard to create an inclusive and caring environment that support social and emotional growth. This is Marina’s fourth year as Camp Director. Marina works with the Rachel Heck, Program Director to develop curriculum and ensure that the program is safe and appropriate for all of the ages that we serve. Marina attended Skyline college where she received her education in Early Childhood Education. Marina developed both an archery outreach program and Judo programs for children. Marina has a passion for the outdoors and cooking. When Marina is not at work, it’s safe to say you’ll find her running on the Pacific coast or baking something delicious. Marina and her husband have two grown children.
Colleen is a Happy Hall alumni. She started attending camp when she was 5 years old, transitioned to being a Teen Leader and eventually Head Teen Leader. She is now a Lead Teacher at Happy Hall Meadows Before & After School and Program Director for our Summer Explorers Program. College attained her Early Childhood Education units from Skyline College and recently graduated from San Francisco State with a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development. Colleen has a passion for introducing children to new activities as her goal is to create an educational and FUN learning environment. Colleen is committed to guiding children to be the best versions of themselves. When Colleen is not working at Happy Hall Schools, you will find her outdoors. She loves hiking, kayaking, and enjoying nature. Colleen loves to travel, and as most of the child know, her favorite place to travel is Disneyland.
Nikki moved to the Bay Area from Tucson, Arizona. She studied education at the University of Arizona and proceeded to work as a 5th grade teacher for 8 years. Passionate about kids and sports, the move to work in the Bay Area with Happy Hall was a natural fit. Nikki previously worked for Run for Fun in the South Bay as an After School Program Director and Assistant Camp Director. Summer camp is one of her favorite things in the world. With Run for Fun, they offered day and overnight camps. She looks forward to bringing my camp knowledge to Camp Happy Hall this summer and many summers to come! In her free time, Nikki loves to play and watch basketball. She also enjoys the outdoors whether it be hiking or camping with her dog Bentley. Nikki is grateful for an amazing opportunity to work with a wonderful community of parents and kids here in the Bay Area.
